About This Game "I met Anne first, waiting for the bus. I asked her what she was selling and she laughed and said nothing, nothing at all, that what she had to offer was free for anyone who wanted it bad enough. I asked her what had helped her. She just said 'James.'"Sagebrush is a short-form first-person narrative adventure about exploring the compound of an apocalyptic Millenialist cult in remote New Mexico years after they collectively took their lives in a mass suicide event. In Sagebrush, you'll investigate the long-abandoned Black Sage Ranch, the former home of Perfect Heaven, an apocalyptic cult formed in the early 1990s under the guiding hand of the prophet Father James.Inspired by Real-World Apocalyptic CultsBased on extensive research into cult groups both famous and obscure, large and small, Sagebrush avoids simplistic motivations and easy answers. The members of the Flock are diverse and complex people with varied needs, hopes, and fears. An Immersive, Lo-Fi 3D WorldSagebrush features an evocative low-poly, low-resolution, less-is-more art style that combines retro aesthetics with modern technology, along with a fully-realized soundscape and an original ambient musical score that immerses you in the remote New Mexico desert.A Whole Compound to ExploreBlack Sage Ranch is yours to wander, from the trailers that housed the cultists, to the halls where they gathered for food and prayer, to the old mines that stretch out below the compound, untouched for nearly a century.Uncover the Real StoryFind notes, recordings, and belongings that give insight into the people who lived at Black Sage Ranch. What did they believe? Why did they join? Were they happy? And why did they choose to end it all?Estimated Playtime: 60-120 minutes 7aa9394dea Title: SagebrushGenre: Adventure, IndieDeveloper:Redact GamesPublisher:Redact GamesRelease Date: 18 Sep, 2018 Sagebrush Torrent Download [key Serial] sagebrush highland. 9020 sagebrush ct. 902 sagebrush drive austin tx. sagebrush rebellion defined freedom as. sagebrush new mexico. sagebrush bakersfield. sagebrush youth group. sagebrush essential oil. 01 sagebrush isleta nm. sagebrush keystone. 11 sagebrush north attleboro. sagebrush plant. sagebrush hunts. sagebrush steppe. sagebrush westside. sagebrush hotel taos. sagebrush ecosystem council. sagebrush morganton. sagebrush rio rancho. sagebrush vector. sagebrush happy hour. sagebrush usda. sagebrush wood. mac sagebrush. sagebrush order online. 55 sagebrush trail covington ga. sagebrush ranch nv. sagebrush easter. sagebrush junction photography. sagebrush mount airy. sagebrush photography. sagebrush locations. sagebrush jewelry. 849 sagebrush dr. sagebrush rebellion. sagebrush pipeline. sagebrush in nevada. sagebrush lake orion. sagebrush asheboro nc. sagebrush adaptations. sagebrush in fenton. 6835 sagebrush circle sarasota fl. sagebrush wyoming. 931 sagebrush drive prosper tx. sagebrush winery. 7700 sagebrush ct. sagebrush 1111 columbus. sagebrush grand lake. sagebrush medical center. sagebrush 28001. sagebrush vs sage. 4601 sagebrush trail. sagebrush designs. exercise sagebrush. 8726 sagebrush. sagebrush james curnow. sagebrush 27030. sagebrush seeds. sagebrush fenton. sagebrush state quizlet. 7375 sagebrush dr parker co. sagebrush kamloops. sagebrush yelp. sagebrush basketball. 720 sagebrush trail. sagebrush waynesville. 6235 sagebrush orange tx. sagebrush means in english. 721 sagebrush trail. sagebrush kid deviantart. sagebrush menu. sagebrush cafe quartz hill california. 902 sagebrush dr. sagebrush growing zone. sagebrush theater Incredibly short, terrible graphics, but fascinating look at cults. Great focus on development and an ominous world.. This game is a bop. It isn't long for sure, but it doesn't need to be. Sagebrush is a short, stylized adventure that explores a darker side of humanity through environmental storytelling. It takes place on what feels like dried up farmland. It isn't a beautiful game in the traditional sense, but the bleak, orange environments evoke some powerful feelings that are not familiar to the light of day. Many of the story beats had me saying "oh no.." to myself, and as the darkness set in the environment it set in my heart as well. The puzzle pieces hidden across the map may have left me holding W on my keyboard while I waited to walk across the property, but the set-pieces were distinct and interesting. If the locations didn't make up for it, comparing the environment with a map to figure out where I was at times did. Don't play it if you're looking for an action game, because it's not an action game. It's an exercise in storytelling with some light puzzles and powerful environments. The sense of dread alone is worth the asking price.Oh, and the story is about cults. Play it.. Great game, gripping story.Only con this game has is the size of the map, which in my opinio was way too big.9/10. Sagebrush certainly had potential, however unlike the titles it shadows (Dear Esther, Gone home, etc.) it lacks a compelling or interesting narrative. It is simply a regurgitation of the Jonestown tragedy presented at point blank to the backdrop of god-awful screenplay and abysmal voice acting. The graphics are not the saving grace for sagebrush, as a multitude of titles employee the exact same gimmick (September 1999, First Winter, ext.) and are arguably more profound in their usage.. Simple concept, well excecuted. The decent voice acting, sound design and story kept me engaged throughout the 2 hours it took to complete.. This beautiful game is a wonderful way to escape into your own head for a few hours. Introspective, quiet, slow-paced, and thoughtful - Sagebrush is one of my favorite "horror" experiences in recent years. Worth supporting.. Hate giving it a no. While a lot of love was clearly put into this game and the visuals, the story falls flat. If you know anything about Heaven's Gate or People's Temple the story is painfuly beat for beat and does very little to keep it becoming cliche. Characters are 1/2 dimensional, very little is done to flesh out the characters beyond their roles in the story. Despite frequent trips to certain locations I had trouble remembering which character was supposed to be which. Most unfortunately, when then game started hinting it will go in an intereresting interesting direction, it quickly veers back on course to predictability. If you know nothing about religious cults, maybe the content of the story will shock you, otherwise anyone familier with the phrase "Drink the Kool-aid" this'll simply be another coat of pain on Jonestown. As far as gameplay goes: it's fine. Puzzles aren't overly obtuce and mainly consists of reading comprehension (sorry speed readers). My main annoyance is with some of the sound design, such as doors automatically closing, which always sounds super close to you even if you're half way across the map, which tends to break immersion, as well as the constant wood creaking. Once you realize there's no threat in the game it's very distracting.Normaly would have refunded, but this sudio is super indie and shows talent. Look foward to future titles.. 9/10I thought that this game was fascinating. It's a relatively standard adventure game, but the trajectory is intuitive. As you explore the compound, you learn more and more about a female former resident through audio diaries. I thought that the voice actress here was very skilled, adding to my sense of immersion. The game has a unique, pixelated graphical style which added to the deserted quality of the location. As you move back and forth across the compound you become familiar with the layout, adding a sense of place to Black Sage Ranch.Although the story of this cult closely mirrors that of Jim Jones and Jonestown (even including a Leo Ryan-type figure), which I am familiar with, I still found the experience extremely worthwhile. Not all players will have read the books or watched the documentaries that I have on Jonestown, and it is vitally important that we are all familiar with the ways a megalomaniac can abuse trust and pervert community. In addition, the game has an additional layer in its story that goes beyond a simple retelling of the story of Jonestown. However, I will refrain from providing additional details for fear of spoilers. The only negative aspect of the experience was that I sometimes tired of walking from building to building. However, your character has infinite sprint (holding the shift key, if memory serves), and it could be that without these strolls the game would lose some of its powerful sense of place ( the ranch as a real, purposeful space that you could imagine possessing a community).. There's something really special about these kind of games that make your skin crawl with both subject matter and atmosphere. Any game which has me muttering under my breath "please don't be a horror game" has me hooked. A lovely wee overlooked gem of a game.
