There are a number of recent negative reviews on this game, perhaps because more people are buying it when it came up for sale last time, and took a chance on a five dollar game. I picked it as well and also bought the DLC maps.Tastes in games are subjective, but for whatever reason this one really hit the spot for me. It's not going to be the best FPS or best puzzle game, but the first Sanctum has it's own niche and unique style, that it earns its place out there.Unlike Sanctum 2 the enemies don't fight back. You can get up and close and chase them, or occupy higher spots in strategic areas and get better hits. The waves that come out in lines on the ground, or flying above in the air, try to reach and diminish the core - if enough reach it, the level drops to zero and the match is over. The action can be intense but around the edges of it, there is a light heartedness, such as the free Christmas DLC map.Thought it's hard to find online matches, the gameplay is great as different people can bring different weapons and towers, to split up the workload and to create a successful map. I think if you buy this game and host some maps you'll find that there are other people out there who will hop on.. One night with less than 2 hours of sleep, I tried my hand at survival mode on bridge. I got to wave 62. The next day I tried after getting some sleep. I got to wave 15...To this day I can not get past 20 and I have no ******* clue what I did to get to 62 and it frustrates me to no end .I hate this game and what it does to me.10/10. This is quite simply one of the most innovative and the most entertainning games I've played in a while. With beautiful visuals, a smooth and pleasing soundtrack, combind with a unique gameplay that requires both stratagy and skill. This game provides a experience that will leave you in absolute awe. I know I did, I have actually spent several idel minutes exploring and admiring the map's beauty. It also has several secrets lying around on each map that creates an environment of mystery or simply just silliness. If that dosen't convince you to get this amazing game. It also offers ingame Text-To-Voice that is quite simply, ♥♥♥♥ing hilarious.Get this game. It's well worth more then what it's being sold for.. This game has a ton of updates and new free stuff added every couple months. It also has AAA graphics and co-op or single-user game play for the price of an indie puzzle game -- on sale. Lots of replayability on the few maps it comes with, and (though somewhat controversial) the new maps and weapons released as DLC are a lot of fresh fun that I feel are worth the cost. The DLC weapons can be used by you in games that your friends may not have them, which helps keep your load outs unique to eachother, and they're cheap if you ever want to add on. Those complaining of this model are forgetting how much replayable game you are already getting for the base price of 9.99. The extra stuff is just sprinkles and doughnuts. Play it with your friends or alone, it's a great mesh of tower defense and varied, upgradable gunplay. Simply stunning game.. If you're one of those guys that wasted countless hours playing flash-based tower defense games in your browser, then this will be a cake for you.. Wonderful game, great controls, epic weapons, beautiful backgrounds(wish I could fully explore them) and music. Lots of secrets everywhere.I thought I had written a review for this previously, but I guess these expire or something.(Fix it Valve).. Wonderful, innovative, and fun. This is a great go-to LAN game, and the DLC was really entertaining. How many games have an easter egg involving shooting santa out of the sky? This one. 9/10.
